[aa_subtitle_display]Your employees are your biggest asset, and as a business owner, you truly rely on them to keep your organization flourishing. In a recent article, we discussed the various reasons why you should consider breaking the mold of traditional benefits and start offering those that are more out-of-the-box.
Today, we are sharing some of the most unique benefits to consider that will make for happier employees, easier recruiting, and swifter hiring at your organization. Keep reading to learn more.
This is something we mentioned in our last article, but we wanted to delve further into it here. While the thought of granting your employees unlimited paid vacation time may seem preposterous, it’s becoming more and more of a common practice. It’s definitely coveted among employees, as it allows them more flexibility.
This is particularly important with millennials, who are known for being more on-the-go than any generation in the past. An Ask.com survey found that 69 percent of respondents would be more inclined to take a new job if the company offered unlimited PTO, which is a pretty high statistic!
This benefit could also be a way to cut costs at your organization, believe it or not. The same Ask.com survey noted that unlimited vacation time can save 52 work hours per year of administrative time that is typically spent determining how much vacation time has gone unused.
Direct Primary Care (DPC)
While this is a less traditional benefit right now, it is certainly on the rise. DPC is a healthcare model that breaks tradition, allowing patients to pay a retainer (usually monthly) to acquire the care of their primary care physician.
This means that regular healthcare – complete with insurance claims, co-pays, and long wait times – is out the window. This is a simplified model that creates an enhanced doctor-patient relationship, more timely and reliable care, and in-depth appointments to ensure each patient is receiving the best care that they can get.
This benefit will serve to show your employees that you care about their health and overall well-being, and it certainly shows you’re ahead of the curve when it comes to the world of healthcare, which can be tumultuous, confusing, and ever-changing.
Just as we discussed in the first unique benefit listed, many employees value flexibility as a part of their work schedule. Providing employees the opportunity to adjust their work hours as needed, setting “core service hours”, and allowing telecommuting (even if it’s just on occasion) is a great way to allow employees the flexibility they need at minimal cost to you and your organization. This benefit is easy to customize to support your business model, but whatever way you slice it, it’s sure to be something your employees will love.
